I was really impressed with that girl, her manner, her self-control, her perseverance. It pissed me off that she left without even looking back, it almost seemed worrying. It was certainly a thrashing in the face to look for her outside that arena only to be ignored: she hadn't been rude, but she had made it clear that she had no intention of talking to me. I had even gone so far as to think I had bad breath, to cause her such coldness and detachment, however, in my opinion, there was something underneath that caused her to keep her distance. She might have disliked me, but not to such an extent that she ran away. Surely there was more to it and I wanted to find out more.

"Oh yes, push it deeper," moaned a girl, abruptly bringing me back to reality.

My vision lowered to the face full of dripping make-up of a brunette in the middle of a moment of pleasure: her eyes were half-closed, with that small slit allowing a glimpse of her irises raised upwards, her cheeks reddish, her hands clasped to the mattress, her back arched and her lips half-closed every now and then to leave room for little sighs of enjoyment. I had drunk so much that night that I couldn't even remember how I got to my bedroom. All I remembered was going to a bar with Max and finding a supermodel reunion inside. I remembered two sets of vodka shots resting on the wooden bar, while a hundred people complimented me, clapping their hands on my shoulders. That face, however, had been completely removed from my mind.

I immediately thought of that Summer: she could have been that girl, if only she had let herself go. I could have had her breasts in my hands, her perfumed hair twisted in my fingers, her breath panting on my neck, her voice scratched in my ear, her legs wrapped around my waist, and yet that wary attitude of hers had led her to a different ending from the one I had planned.
